The Gayatri Mantra This 5000 year old mantra is one of the most ancient sacred and powerful mantras to meditate upon in this world! Promises are not enough

The Himalayan Times 29 July 2011 Promises are not enough An English daily had recently reported that the annual loss of NEA exceeds Rs. 7 billion which could tremendously offset its enormous amount of deficit. Had the NEA been able to save this loss which also could drastically reduce the load shedding hours. The current total power generation of Nepal comes to around 700 megawatts of which Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is bearing around 29 % power loss due to technical loss, leakages and theft. The Energy Minister Gokarna Bista had also recently made promised to fight back to reduce this loss down to 20 % within the next six months. It is yet to be seen whether his good promises would be fulfilled. Also, the government had launched Hydropower Investment and Development Company (HIDC) for power project development to address and improve the current power crisis in the country “New company to boost hydel projects” (THT, July 27, Page 2). Nepal is known to be the second largest

Only blame game rife

The Himalayan Times 15 July 2011 Only blame game rife All the major political parties of new Nepal have been widely exposed because of their inter and intra-party factional politics thus severely   hampering the peace process and drafting of new constitution that are to be completed by the end of the extended three months time in accordance with five-point deal. Maoist senior leaders seem pretty busy in blaming and undermining each other in the name of people’s war as reported in “Baidya-Bhattarai camp busy flexing muscles” (THT, July 13, Page 1). Likewise, the Nepali Congress (NC) senior leaders’ bid to lead the next government is heating up as reported in “Congress statue allows PP leader change: Singh” (THT, July 13, Page 5). Also, the UML’s internal feud has heated up for quite some time. Looking closely at their irresponsible and insensible acts, it does not seem that they would be able to complete the people’s mandated tasks by the dead-line. The current fragile political si

FACTIONAL FEUD

The Kathmandu Post 15 July 2011 FACTIONAL FEUD THE current volatile political situation demands a collaborative effort among all the political parties, especially so called Big Three and UMF parties (“Deuba faction expects Sushil to keep his word” July 13, Page 1) and (“Ground beneath Dahal shifting” July 13, Page) . There is no alternative to forging a consensus and moving forward to finish prime jobs mandated by the people. But politicians are caught up in factional feuds. If the parties do not abandon their egoistic politics Nepal could end up with a disastrous crisis. Negligence 11 JULY 2011

The Himalayan Times 11 July 2011 Negligence The delay in filling the chief positions of the key constitutional bodies for the last three/four years continue to show the gross negligence of the past and the present governments due to their self-centred political interests. The Auditor General’s Office, Financial Comptroller General’s Office, Public Service Commission, Criminal Investigation Commission, Election Commission and CIAA have been knowingly made ineffective and inefficient due to political tug of war among the Big Three for nominating the persons of their own taste. In fact, the roles of all these constitutional bodies are highly important for balancing the governance of the government’s mechanisms. The effectiveness and efficiencies of these constitutional bodies have been more important than before for many good reasons. It is known to everybody that the Prime Minister chairs the Constitutional Council (CC) and runs it with the support of Chief Justice, Constitutional Ass

Sunday evening

Had candle light supper with Shaila and Shishir around 19.45. Load shedding continues to bother Nepali people. Ke garne? No body knows as to how long we have to suffer from this torturous load shedding. Looking closely at the on- going political situation, it does not seem that the Nepal would be free from load shedding soon. I hope I am not wrong.   http://www.dataentryjobs.us/33120.html

Insurance premium

I managed to pay my annual insurance premium this morning. This was the last amount for my 15 years life insurance policy. It gets matured next July, 2012. Is not it exciting to know that? I suggest everybody who can afford to visit any insurance company in Kathmandu and make arrangement for life insurance. It will be fun to wait for its maturity. http://www.dataentryjobs.us/33120.html
