The Himalayan Times 28 December 2012 I am not surprised to read the news report “Load-shedding hours go up” (THT, 26 Dec. Page 3) contradicting Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai’s pledge to limit the load shedding hours to 12 hours per day. The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) with much pride had announced that the current load shedding hours has been increased from 69 hours to 84 hours a week from Wednesday onwards. What a pity is this for the people of a country which is the second richest country in the world in water resources? Whichever political party ascends to the political helm assures the people about reducing the load shedding hours during the dry seasons. So far, only Gokarna Bista, who was the Energy Minister during Jhalanath Khanal’s premiership, was able to keep his promise of reducing the load shedding significantly during the dry season. The Himalayan Times 25 December 2012 The people do not seem comfortable with the President’s move of extending the deadline time and again. How can he be sure that the four major parties, which, for the past five years were unable to forge consensus, would forge consensus in this extended time frame?   Has the President himself been made helpless by unknown forces to act in accordance with their directives? Otherwise, why can’t he boldly act to break the on-going constitutional dead-lock as he had used his constitutional right to retain the then Chief of the Army Rukmand Katuwal who was sacked by the then PM Prachand? The President is said to be the patron of the Interim Constitution. Why can’t he then use his constitutional rights to emancipate the nation from the so-called big parties’ political hostage? It seems that the nation, at this time, demands that the President should break the existing political dead-lock using his inner conscience rather than being a weak Presid

I was not surprised to know that the President had once again extended the ultimatum given to the political parties to forge consensus for next PM.  He does not seem interested with the plight of the common people to act for emancipating the nation from the existing constitutional crisis and political uncertainty. It seems his hands have been tied up by the external forces. Otherwise, why can't he boldly act being the patron of the Interim Constitution? Who has made him helpless and inactive President? Are there any unknown forces which have made him helpless President? Time is running out for him to act and emancipate the nation from the so called big parties' political hostage. on line jobs

The political situation in the Republic Nepal is becoming even more uncertain and scary soon after the President decided to give another five more days’ ultimatum to the political parties to forge consensus on common candidate for new PM. Looking closely at their insincere political acts in the past, it does not seem that they would forge consensus and emancipate the nation from their political hostage even during this third time grace period. If they could not come forward with consensus and missed Bisakh CA election deadline, then the nation would further plunge into deep political and constitutional crisis inviting complete political, social and economic chaos in the country.   Let us hope that the so called senior political leaders of major political parties use their common sense and act responsibly and sincerely for resolving the on-going political stalemate.  on line jobs  

As everybody had foreseen that the President would extend his ultimatum given to the political parties to forge consensus for new PM. Exactly that did happen. Another 7 days has been offered to them. If they agreed on one common candidate by the end of the extended time, that would be very good. If not, then the President should boldly act as per the principle of necessity and form new government of apolitical individuals, former judges and professionals and assign it to hold the election. If this is still not possible for him to do so, ask the Army to form a caretaker government and hold free and impartial election and hand over the government to the newly elected government. If this is also not possible, revive the 2047 constitution, hold the fresh election and run the country with fresh mandate of the sovereign people and emancipate the nation from the political hostage of these irresponsible and immoral acts of so called senior leaders.
