Shame on the NCP leaders

Image
Shame on the NCP leaders The continuation of flexing political muscle based on numerical strength in between the two chairs of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has risen more suspicion about the party heading towards party split. It is so sad to see the two third majority government of the NCP has been almost failed to lead the country towards long lasting peace and prosperity because of its internal political feud.  If they fail to mend their political differences on time, Nepal will enter into another political unstable phase. The people were tired in the past of seeing unstable government and wanted to see a stable government for national interest and development. That could be the reason they wholeheartedly voted the NCP candidates in the last general election. Unfortunately, it did not happen as they had wished for.   One of the chairpersons and his team wanted to see the other chairperson vacate either PM post or chairperson-ship which seems completely again

High drama

High drama I am wondering how long we have to read and listen frustrating news about the internal feud in the ruling party when the country and its people are passing through a critical situation due to COVID 19. I have no hesitation to express and write time and again about the then UML and Maoist (Centre) had merged right before the last general election just for their self-centered politics and personal benefits. Their merger was just a marriage of convenience. We can clearly see the hunger of power of the senior leaders who are desperately quarreling over the lucrative chairs.  On-going factional politics in the ruling party has completely undermined the national priorities. People are dying of hunger, committing suicide and have been badly affected by floods and landslides. We do not hear anything about the government’s immediate relief packages. Instead, both the Chairpersons continue to be engaged in pushing each other aside using their own Chamche

No more lockdown ?

No more lockdown ? I am not surprised to know the government's decision to lift 120 days lockdown that was imposed on March 24, 2020 due to Covid 19 when only 2 persons were infected. It had to face wide criticism from all walks of life for its poor management in dealing with and controlling the spread of virus in the country. As of today , 17999 persons have been infected with the virus.  I am still nervous with the way the people are not taking the virus seriously looking at them not maintaining social distancing and not wearing masks in crowded areas. Is really the number of virus infected persons gone down or is it the government that has slowed down testing of virus infection? Is it possible for the government and its machinery to monitor day to day movement of potentially infected persons following lifting lockdown?  I hope the government will not have to reverse its decision of lifting lockdown in near future as some of the countries had to reverse their dec

Towards bankruptcy

Image
Towards bankruptcy It seems that the downfall of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) is not too far considering its past and current operational and management performance. NAC formerly known as Royal Nepal Airlines country Corporation (RNAC) is the flag carrier of Nepal. Founded in 1958, it is the oldest airline of the country. However, its management always remained to be controversial due to direct or indirect interventions of the past and present governments. It used to be and has been made a milking cow by both the political leaders, ministers and bureaucrats. Its management always found to be involved in corruption scandals.     Soon after it acquired six Chinese aircraft six years ago, NAC has been incurring a huge loss. The current loss has reached nearly Rs. 2 billion, mostly in insurance and operational costs. If the NAC management does not come up with a realistic plan and program in near future to handle its debt, the future of NAC is in limbo. What a shame
