Requesting PM to take another bold political step

Requesting PM to take another bold political step

After the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) by the PM Oli five days ago, we have been hearing different opinions, concerns and suggestions from different individuals, groups, constitutional experts and political analysts. Some of them have opined that PM has taken the right steps for this and that reasons. Some of them suggested that it would be much better if he had taken this and that steps. Most of them had criticized him for taking unconstitutional decision and tried to undermine the existing political structure. Somebody had even claimed that PM did political coup with the support of the President.

Everybody is now waiting for the Supreme Court (SC) verdict against more than one dozen writ petitions filed against the HoR dissolution.

I am wondering even if the SC’s verdict came against the Oli’s government decision, whether my following concerns and queries will be addressed looking closely at the way the political parties and their senior political leaders were performing their political responsibilities in line with the constitution and fulfilling the promises they had made to the people during the last elections.

1.  Will the senior leaders start behaving as the responsible people’s representatives in the days to come?

2.  What is the guarantee that the senior leaders will stop fighting for power?

3.  Will the rampant corruption be controlled?

4.  Will the political leaders and high level bureaucrats involved in corruptions be lawfully punished and put behind bars?

5.  Will senior leaders stop recruiting their well-wishers and relatives in government, semi-government lucrative political and constitutional positions?

6.  Is it possible to feed thousands of people’s representatives engaged in the federal, provincial and local level governments from people’s tax money for ever? If not for how long?

7.  Is it possible to attain Prosperous Nepal and Happy Nepali slogan by spending more than 80 % of annual budget in administrative expenses (perks and benefits of more than thousand MPs, minsters, civil servants)

8.  Is it possible to claim back the encroached national borders under the federal structure?

  9.  Can it be guaranteed the protection of constitution and national interest and        sovereignty under current system of the Presidency?

10. Will the political parties and their leaders be able to lead the nation            towards long lasting peace and prosperity looking at their political activities and performance?

My sincere and humble request, as a senior citizen, a sincere nationalist and non-badi person, to PM Oli and his party to be sincerely serious and take bold political steps towards accommodating all the political forces, royalist, nationalists, well-wishers and all the common people by establishing such a political system that could be suitable and compatible to the nation and its people for fulfilling his noble wish “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali” without wasting time.m

NCP spat: Both factions call central committee meeting today

While Supreme Court deliberations on the constitutionality of House dissolution goes on, the Election Commission is preparing for midterm polls in two phases on April 30 and May 10.

But at the same time, it also has to decide on which of the two factions of the Nepal Communist Party has a legitimate claim to the party.

The faction led by party chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday informed the Election Commission that its Central Committee had been expanded to make it 1,199-member with the addition of 556 members now and with the provision of adding 197 members in the future.
