Kathmandu-An Open Museum Kathmandu is and has been for many years the centre of nation’s history, art, culture, and economy. It has a multi-ethnic population within a Hindu majority. Religious and cultural festivities form a major part of the lives of people residing in Kathmandu. The city is considered the gateway to the several Himalayas and is home to several World Heritage Sites: the Durbar Square, Swayambhu Mahachaitya, Bouddha and Pashupatinath are some among the several heritages.  Balen Shah had promised to revive the architecture, infrastructure, and heritage of Kathmandu during his election campaign. The rap song sung by Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah, “Ma Nepal Haseko Herna Chahanchhu”, has been officially released as a promotional track for the upcoming film Laaj Sharanam. The lyrics, composition and rap by himself a decade ago has made his playback singing debut in the upcoming Nepali movie ‘Laaj Sharanam’. For Laaj Sharanam, Balen granted permission to use the rap, which has now been re-recorded and incorporated into the movie. The video features key characters from the film, aligning with its story-line.
