No deceiving

The people of Nepal have seen and experienced in the pasts several deals and agreements signed among the so called big political parties to patch up their political weaknesses and for their petty political interests in the name of peace and new constitution drafting processes. I see now the tremendous frustration among majority of the people who have started expressing their serious concerns and dissatisfaction about the Big Three’s irresponsible acts and blame games. Listening regularly to a FM radio talk program, it seems to me that the difficult days are ahead for the so called senior leaders of the major political parties if they did not start behaving well and correcting their destructive political acts. The people are fed up up-to their neck with the ongoing immoral political activities of the Big Three.

There was a high hope of the people from the incumbent government led by Dr. Baburam Bhattarai (BRB) who had received great deal of peoples’ applaud for being shown a lot hope to the people. The people, who were and are being  overburdened and having hard time to make both ends meet with the sky rocketing market prices and unbearable load shedding, had expected that BRB would do good for them. Nothing such tangible things happened. He totally failed to keep his promises to the people. The people have now almost lost hope from him and want to see an alternative government with firm determination and commitment to tackle the people’s hardships.

In the mean time, it was encouraging to know that both Sushil Koirala and Pushpa Kamal Dahal have at-least agreed to push for the unity government at such time when the peace process has been stalled for some time as reported in “NC, Maoist chiefs push for unity govt” (THT, Jan.17, Page 1). Also, the standing committee of UML has formed a four member task- force led by M K Nepal to hold talks with other parties for speeding up the peace and new constitution processes as reported in “UML team to hold talks with parties” (THT, Jan. 17, Page 1). Time is running fast for them in order to meet the last deadline for this twin tasks. They had already missed such deadlines thrice in the past. There are no other options for them this time besides devoting and concentrating their full time and efforts on the peoples mandated tasks and complete them by the last dead line. Otherwise, their future seems uncertain and bleak.
