CA Chairperson Subash Nemabang should have played more proactive role in the past for making the CA more effective and productive in its role rather than letting its supremacy be degraded by irresponsible acts of the major political parties (“CA meet to start statute drafting” April 19, Page 3). Shortening the new constitution discussion process at the CA by amending the Interim Constitution (IC) would raise questions pertaining to peoples’ right to information and their role in drafting the constitution as included in the IC. How is it possible to draft new constitution within such short period of time anyhow?
