Unethical politics of senior leaders

Disclose the five-point deal

Recently, Hemant Sedai had disclosed the five-point deal signed between the King Gyanendra and the then seven-party alliance on BS 2063, Baisakh 11, in a YouTube channel. Since then, a number of talk programmes about the five-point deal can be seen in the various YouTube channels.

Until now, except Baburam Bhattarai, none of the signatories of the five-point deal have publicly either rejected it or accepted it. Looking at the elements of the five-point deal, the then seven-party alliance had unbelievably and irresponsibly deceived the people and continues to deceive them  not disclosing it to the people until today. Also, it was surprising to see even the King Gyanendra has not publicly disclosed it.

I am sure, the people are desperately waiting to see the senior leaders of the major political parties show sincerity towards the people and the nation and themselves and be bold enough to disclose the five-point deal considering the on-going political chaos in the country.

2083/84 budget at a glance

2083/84 budget at a glance The Balen led government , which is almost two-thirds majority government secured in the March 2026 elections , has announced its annual budget 2,124.34 billion on May 29, 2026, as the largest budget in Nepal's history, representing a 25.2 present increase over the revised estimates of the current fiscal year 2082/83.  Most of the financial experts and economic analysts opine that this budget, although optimistic, has broadly, boldly and wisely covered key and major aspects of the national all round development. Huge tax reforms , massive infrastructure allocations, transformative sectoral policies, 7 percent targets on economic growth and inflation capped at 6 per cent are the key aspects of the highly optimistic budget. This shows a departure from a decade of political instability toward productive governance. It has included first sovereign AI computing centre, doubling of personal income tax exemption thresholds , 21 percent civil servant sal...
