It was wonderful to know that Mr.Himalaya Shumsher Rana, the founder of the first private bank of Nepal --Himalayan Bank Limited, has been conferred with the title of The Order of Japan (The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star) in recognition of his outstanding contribution.
Mr. Rana was one of the recipients of the 2021 Autumn Imperial Decorations which was announced by Government of Japan on Wednesday.
He is an economist and founder of the Himalayan Bank as well as Gorkha Brewery. He was the first governor of Nepal Rastra Bank who celebrated his 94th birthday in January.
