Who will win the battle?

Who will win the battle? The intra-party political feud in the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) in the recent days has overshadowed the difficulties faced by the common people owing to corona virus. It seems that all the NCP senior leaders, who are supposed to collectively lead the party and assist its government to run the nation effectively in this critical time, are embroiled in self -centered politics. They seems to be spending their lockdown time in hatching conspiracies against each other.  PM Oli has been cornered by his party men for his unconstitutional acts a few days ago. It was not so sure why he was compelled to bring up two ordinances even leading almost two-thirds majority government at a time when the nation is reeling under corona pandemic. His recent proposal of  offering PM chair to Bamdev Gautam and Madhav Nepal as the another Chair seems to be in hot soup. Proposing Nepal for the Party's Chair is NCP's internal matter. Gautam to replace him as t...

Increasing number of cybercrimes

Increasing number of cybercrimes This is just to share the following article by Aditi Aryal  & Shuvam Dhunganam  published in today's "The Kathmandu Post"  April 28, 2020. They have made us aware about the increasing number of cyber crimes during this lockdown period.  With everyone forced indoors and online by the lockdown, cases of cybercrime are increasing https://tkpo.st/35d5deU The country has been under a strict lockdown for over a month now. The prohibitions on all public movement have meant that everyone is stuck indoors with ample time on their hands, which is leading to a rise in cybercrimes, according to the Nepal Police.  “During the lockdown, most people are at home and are constantly on their computers and on the internet. This has led to an increase in cases of cybercrimes,” said Senior Superintendent Nabinda Aryal, chief of the Nepal Police’s central cyber bureau. Nearly 200 complaints have been...

Easing lockdown outside hot-spots

Easing lockdown outside hot-spots I am bit nervous over easing lockdown in the areas outside hot-spots as reported in today's (April 24/20) "The Kathmandu Post". Yes, the three weeks lockdown throughout the nation has created ups and downs in our lives. However, if the government is thinking to ease lockdown, it should think twice before making such decision. Are we in position to identify the hot-spots around the nation? Has the government been able to identify such areas so far? What will happen if the yet to be identified infected person(s) from hot-spots area move to other non hot-spots areas after easing lockdown? There could be other several means of transmission of deadly virus from hot-spots to non hot-spots. Hope, the high level commission will seriously look into these issues and concerns before easing lockdown.   https://kathmandupost.com/health/2020/04/24/health-ministry-to-recommend-easing-of-lockdown-restrictions-in-areas-outside-coronavirus-hots...

Nepal seems to be bracing for a crisis

Nepal seems to be bracing for a crisis I am wondering how the government will handle the upcoming thousands of migrant workers influx from different host countries including the Gulf countries due to COVID 19 pandemic.   Is the government prepared to manage them? I am nervous with this upcoming scary situation that could create social, economic and political chaos.  Here is a wonderful article that was appeared in today’s (April 22/20) “The Kathmandu Post.”       With hundreds of thousands of migrants predicted to return home, Nepal needs to brace for a crisis https://tkpo.st/2xNRgYL
